Cancer Warning Labels Mandatory at Major Coffee Shops Including Starbucks in California

Cancer warning labels mandatory at major coffee shops located in Los Angeles, California, according to the order by the county judge regulated on Wednesday, which will fine such companies to pay in millions of dollars, if they disobeyed the order.

Elihu Berle, County Superior Court Judge, Los Angeles, California has instructed about the new regulation that mandates the prominent coffee sellers, which also include Starbucks Corp as well as all of the coffee distributors and vendors to offer their cup of Joe to every customer, which will must be containing a cancer warning label.

“Most of the studies done so far have not found an increased risk of cancer in humans,” American Cancer Society stated that, “For some types of cancer, such as kidney, endometrial and ovarian cancer, the results have been mixed, but there are currently no cancer types for which there is clearly an increased risk related to acrylamide intake.’

Researchers have discovered a substance called as carcinogen, which is able to cause cancer in living tissue, in a brewed beverage. They said that these coffee giants have been unsuccessful to genuinely recognize this acute chemical threat.

In a statement, the National Coffee Association said that it considered the appeal as the judge’s decision, “Cancer warning labels on coffee would be misleading. The US government’s own dietary guidelines state that coffee can be part of a healthy lifestyle. The World Health Organization (WHO) has said that coffee does not cause cancer. Study after study has provided evidence of the health benefits of drinking coffee, including longevity — coffee drinkers live longer.”
