On Tuesday, Samsung announced a brand new generation of its Galaxy A smartphones, A8 and A8 Plus. The updated devices make some of the Galaxy S8’s best features more affordable.
Buyers will see some new options for Galaxy A models with Infinity Displays at an affordable price in stores in early January in markets around the world.
The new A8 generation model has a 5.6-inch AMOLED display and the A8 Plus is the same but larger at six inches. The fingerprint is located in a central location under the single-lens camera that will be easily accessible. It looks like Samsung learned its lesson the hard way as the Galaxy S8 and Note 8 models’ fingerprint placement were disapproved by plenty of customers.
Both two phones feature a 16MP and 8MP F/1.9 dual front camera, a 16MP F/1.7 rear camera. They also sport an infinity display, a display ratio of 18.5:9, and 32GB or 64GB storage that you can expand up to 256GB with a microSD card.
The A8 includes 4GB of RAM, while the A8 Plus includes either 4GB or 6GB of RAM. The devices are water and dust resistance and compatible with Samsung Pay. The smartphones are the company’s A-series’ first devices that will support Gear VR.
The Galaxy A8 and A8 Plus come in black, gray, gold, and blue colors. They will be available early January. But the company has not revealed the exact cost for both devices.
