Razer a Singaporean gaming hardware company made a smartphone named the Razer Phone for gaming. The company is huge in the PC gaming world and launched the device in the US last week. When the device was released, many were pleasantly surprised with Razer’s offering.
The phone is one of this year’s most interesting and attractive handsets. It features 8 GB of RAM, and a 5.7” QHD IGZO LCD UltraMotion display (2560 x 1440, 120Hz refresh rate), with an impressive refresh rate of 120HZ. If you’re unfamiliar, the refresh rate includes frames which measure how often a video source can feed an entire frame of new data to a display. Nearly all smartphones refresh at 60Hz.
The Razer Phone comes with improvements for better gaming performance. Its spec list includes an emphasis on mobile gaming, an audio experience that any user can appreciate. It features 64GB storage (expandable supported), dual rear-facing cameras (12MP f/1.75 Wide + 13MP f/2.6), dual Dolby Atmos speaker on the front side, fingerprint reader, Android 7.1+ Nougat, and NFC. It is powered by Snapdragon 835 processor, and 4,000mAh battery.
According to Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan, over the next few weeks, the Razer Phone will receive updates bringing enhancement related to low light camera performance and “many other optimizations” (all related to the camera app).
Tan also said that the next camera app will have Features like portrait mode, 60 fps video, and other improvements will be coming with Oreo update.
