OnePlus has announced that it has started the incremental roll-out of Android 8.0 Oreo to the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T handsets. This update comes with OxygenOS 5.0 that is a new version of OxygenOS.
The company’s flagship smartphones for 2016, the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T both have received the Oreo beta. The company has already started the rollout of this update to the OnePlus 3 and 3T users over-the-air (OTA). As the beta was released to a limited number of users, the public will get the update in near future.
The OxygenOS 5.0 update brings a number of features that are included in Android 8.0 Oreo. Users have already seen the features on the Google’s Pixel and some Nexus devices.
As part of this update, the users will get picture-in-picture support which will let you minimize a video into a small window which can be placed anywhere on the display. Auto-fill features have been added to this new update. Smart text selection, Parallel apps, a new design for quick settings and more are included in Android 8.0 Oreo.
Now, users will get Notification Dots and a new app folder design with this update. On top of everything, the update will allow you upload photos directly to Shot on OnePlus.
Though the OnePlus 3 and 3T has an exact same design, the OnePlus 3T is a more powerful handset as it runs on larger battery, better front-facing camera, and so on.
Initially, a small percentage OnePlus 3’s and OnePlus 3T’s users will get Android 8.0 Oreo update before the wider rollout in the upcoming days.
