Singapore Airlines Ltd on Thursday unveiled its first major cabin overhaul in its double-decker Airbus A380 superjumbo jets.b The Asian carrier is rolling out luxurious and stylish options for top-tier travelers.
The design features new seats, double beds, and swivel chairs. It includes personal wardrobes, vanity counters, luxury bathrooms and the five-star hotel. Passengers traveling together in business class can put divider between seats which will serve a fully-reclining double bed.
From December 18, passengers traveling on the Singapore-Sydney routes will get the first chance to experience the luxury upgrades. Further destinations will be announced in the coming months.
The new A380s will have 78 business class seats on the upper deck, and 44 premium economy and 343 regular economy class seats on the main deck.
“We are pushing the boundaries (with) new design concepts, new materials and new technologies but still focusing on how those innovations can bring greater comfort and convenience to our customers,” said Mr. Goh.
It also offers Wedgwood ware and drinks in Lalique-designed crystal glassware. Singapore Air will also use more sustainable ingredients and fresh local produce. There is also an in-flight entertainment system myKrisWorld, which is the latest advancement in the industry.
This new significant investment of airline on new cabin product indicates that its flow of investment in products and services.
In 2013 the research and development of the A380 cabin upgrades and resulted extensive customer feedback. The new addition is a necessary move for the rising expectations from travellers.
