Over the years Hollywood films and science fiction literature are introducing the aliens as the other-worldly, monster-like beings. But a new study suggests that aliens may be much closer to humans and they may even look like us.
A new research from the Oxford University shows how to support alien predictions and understand their behaviors through the progressive theories. The research published in the International Journal of Astrobiology, makes the predictions about the natural selection, and biological make-up of complex aliens.
The study supports the augment that foreign life forms undergo natural selection, and like us, is progressing to be stronger over time.
Mr. Sam Levin, a researcher in Oxford’s Department of Zoology, and lead author of the study, said, ‘A fundamental task for astrobiologists (those who study life in the cosmos) is thinking about what extra-terrestrial life might be like.”
Levin noted that for now, it is hard to make prediction about aliens. Past approaches in the field of Astrobiology were using theories formed by chemistry, geology, and physics to make predictions about aliens.
The new study offers an alternative approach which uses evolutionary theory for making predictions that are independent of Earth’s details.
The team of researchers addressed extra-worldly evolution and predicted the future complexity in the space.
Sam Levin also says, “We still can’t say whether aliens will walk on two legs or have big green eyes. But we believe evolutionary theory offers a unique additional tool for trying to understand what aliens will be like, and we have shown some examples of the kinds of strong predictions we can make with it.”
Levin stated that we are not alone on Earth and the researchers are looking forward to detecting life of our neighbors.
