The entire Carson City has gone through a nightmare due to the moderate earthquake which was commenced southwest of Hawthorne approximately 16 miles away. The 5.8 magnitude earthquake rattled the entire Douglas and Lyon counties on the Wednesday early morning.
The first quake recorded at 12:18 a.m. in 73 miles southeast region of Carson City, said by the Nevada Seismological Laboratory at the University of Nevada, situated in Reno.
The second quake was felt at 12:22 a.m. which was 5.7 magnitudes. That was reported from Hawthorne’ 14 miles western part of the southwest region. The entire northern Nevada was shaken by the second earthquake too. The tremor was also felt in the seventy miles southeast region of Carson City.
The third one was felt in Carson City at 1:14 a.m. which was long enough and rolling as well. As per the report of Reno situated Nevada Seismological Laboratory at the University of Nevada, the quake was 5.6 magnitude and occurred sixteen miles southwest region of Hawthorne and seventy-one miles southeast area of Carson city.
No casualties or damages although reported yet but, the city has been getting numerous calls all over the country after these quakes.
Apart from these shallow quakes, many aftershocks have been felt throughout the Carson City. At 12:26 a.m., a 4.0 magnitudes tremor was perceived according to the record of Nevada Seismological Laboratory at the University of Nevada. This not-so-severe quake’s epicenter was seventy miles southeast area of Carson City and seventeen miles west-southwest region of Hawthorne. A 3.6 magnitude quake was reported sixty-eight miles Carson City’s southeast at 12.29.
